WHAT IS CLUB VOLLEYBALL?
Club volleyball is an opportunity for girls to compete in state and nationwide tournaments in their own age division from January until July. Teams are formed in each age group through the tryout process and begin practicing in December. Teams will have players from different schools or other counties coming together to form the most competitive teams possible with the highest level of coaching provided.
HOW MUCH TRAVEL IS INVOLVED?
Sarasota Juniors teams will compete in Florida regional events and out of state National Qualifiers. Depending on the team level, there may be up three out of state trips.
WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT FOR A SEASON?
Club volleyball is very time consuming and the expectation is that during club season, volleyball is the players primary extracircular activity. Sarasota Juniors teams will practice two to three times a week and will compete in up to eight tournaments during the club season.
WHY IS CLUB SO POPULAR FOR RECRUITING
Since High School and College Volleyball seasons happen at the same time, the vast majority of college recruiting occurs during the club volleyball season. Colleges are able to see numerous players at regional and national events all throughout the country. Sarasota Juniors participates in the most competitive tournaments to maximize our players exposure to college coaches.
WHAT ARE THE COSTS?
The cost of club volleyball varies depending on the age group and the travel that is involved. Player fees cover coaching salaries and travel expenses, facility rental and expenses, tournament entry fees, uniforms and accessories, administrative expenses and equipment.
